Hi, my name is Bre and I’m trying to raise funds to help support my sweet 2 year old nephew.
Tate was born at 35 weeks and faced a challenging start to life. Shortly after birth, doctors discovered a brain bleed in the occipital horns, and he underwent a 72-hour cooling treatment and a 96-hour EEG to monitor his brain activity. He spent the first 15 days of his life in the NICU, fighting hard from the very beginning.
Since then, Tate’s life has been filled with countless doctor visits, therapies, and evaluations. As a result of the brain injury, he was diagnosed with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), cerebral palsy, hypertonia, hypotonia, and dystonia. Over time, he received additional diagnoses, including global developmental delay, autism, and most recently, a rare genetic condition known as RERE-related disorder.
RERE-related disorder is an extremely rare and little-understood condition. Because it is so new, doctors and geneticists are still unsure of its full impact and long-term outlook.
Despite all the challenges, Tate continues to fight with strength, resilience, and a beautiful spirit. This fundraiser is to help support his ongoing medical care, therapies, and any emerging treatments that could give him the best possible quality of life.
