Help a 21 yr old Trans girl fund life changing surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jeanie, and I’m a 21-year-old Irish trans woman from Dublin. After a lot of encouragement from friends, I’ve finally built up the courage to ask for help with my medical transition.
I began socially transitioning at 14 and have been medically transitioning for almost five years now. Navigating the Irish trans healthcare system has been an overwhelming and difficult journey, not only for me but for my family especially my Mom, Tory who has supported me every step of the way. Unfortunately, I’ve recently been cut off from accessing hormone blockers and oestrogen gel from my current provider without any proper explanation.
This lack of patient support has had a serious impact on my mental health. I’m deeply afraid that my body will start to change in ways I don’t want, and the prospect of gender reassignment surgery feels more out of reach than ever. Irish trans people are left with very few options when it comes to state-funded trans healthcare. I often feel like I’m stuck, unable to fully live the life I’ve always envisioned as the person I truly am.
At this moment, raising the money for gender reassignment surgery feels like an impossible task.
Accessing gender reassignment surgery would change my life in ways I can’t fully express. It would mean finally being able to experience my body as it was always meant to be. This surgery would alleviate the most significant aspect of my gender dysphoria and allow me to live the life I’ve always dreamed of.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve lived in conflict with my body, feeling deep shame, disgust, and detachment. Being able to access this surgery would finally help me feel at home within myself.
If you could support me in any way, even by simply sharing my story on social media, I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you,
Jeanie
