Help Tuan Tran Fight Stage III Throat Cancer

Please help Tuan Tran fight his Stage III Throat Cancer! He and his family need financial support for treatments, special dietary needs, and to cope with all the unexpected medical expenses that arise when there is a medical crisis.

Tuan is married to Mai Tran and dad to Hung, Thao, & Yvan. Tuan worked as a welder and on his free time enjoys fishing, exploring, and spending time with his loved ones.

Tuan's Throat Cancer Journey has not been an easy one to say the least. He had found a small lump on the right side of his throat in June 2019. He had went to numerous doctors, emergency rooms, and medical clinics for them to say that it was just a throat infection, was sent home, and prescribed with antibiotics. From there it progressed, the lump began to grow, and caused lots of swelling and pain. Tuan was later diagnosed with Stage III Throat Cancer in April 2022.

During the time span of when he first noticed the lump and from when he was diagnosed, Tuan has faced some hardship. His throat was in so much pain, he could no longer eat any solid foods. As time went on, it got more and more difficult for him to swallow anything. Due to his inability to eat, he was unable to get the right nutrition and was rapidly losing weight. His rapid weight loss resulted in a collapsed lung leading to multiple surgeries in order to help him. Tuan has been in and out of the hospital too many times to count at this point but has not lost hope.

The throat cancer has affected his throat muscles to which he is unable to breathe properly. To cope with this, he has a tracheostomy tube in his neck and relies on oxygen tanks to assist with his breathing. Tuan also has a feeding tube to help him drink water and nutrition formula to get the proper nutrition he needs. His throat muscles are so weak, that he is barely able to speak, let alone swallow his own spit.

Tuan's tumor is too large to perform surgery to remove at the moment. He has recently began his chemotherapy treatments and is praying for the best. However, due to recent medical issues that have risen, he will soon have to begin his radiotherapy treatments along side his chemotherapy. He is very weak from all that has gone though and is trying to make it one day at a time.

Tuan and his family are now navigating a new, critical journey with ongoing medical bills, special dietary needs, oxygen tanks, and much more.
