My name is Mohammed Swidan, and I come to you as a grieving father from Gaza City. I write this not just for myself but for my family, my everything. My loving wife and our three beautiful daughters, Misk (15), Basmah (13), and little Masa (3), are my world. But the light that once illuminated our lives has been dimmed, replaced by loss and uncertainty.

On October 9, 2023, war shattered our world. Ten relentless hours of shelling in the Al-Ramal neighborhood left us clinging to one another in fear, praying for safety. Miraculously, we survived, but the aftermath forced us into a harrowing journey.

In the dead of night, civil defense and ambulance vehicles urged us to flee our home, our sanctuary. Leaving everything we owned, we sought refuge, only to face the crushing reality of displacement.

We now live as strangers to stability, struggling to make sense of our new reality. Thirteen months of heartbreak have left us with little money, no home, and no sense of normalcy.

Despite this turmoil, my daughters remain my strength and my reason to fight. Misk, my eldest, is a beacon of resilience despite battling sensorineural hearing loss caused by a medical error in her early years. Her hearing aids, which once gave her confidence and the ability to engage with the world, are now malfunctioning. The chaos of war has only worsened her condition. Every day, she suffers silently, her once-bright spirit dimmed by fear and pain.

Misk’s story is just one of the many battles my family faces. We’ve lost our home, my livelihood, and the simple joys that once made life meaningful. We have exhausted all resources, relying on borrowed money from friends and relatives just to survive. Now, we are at a breaking point, and I am turning to you for help.

This campaign is our lifeline, a chance to rebuild, heal, and hope for a better future. With your generosity, here’s how your support can make a difference:

Travel Costs (£41,588): This will help us escape Gaza and cross into Egypt with the help of Hala Tourism and Travel Company, securing a safe path for our family.

Medical Expenses (£5,442): These funds will go toward new hearing aids for Misk, restoring her confidence and daily functionality.

Housing (£11,195): This will cover one year’s rent, giving us a stable home to begin our recovery.

Education (£7,229): These funds will ensure my daughters can return to school and pursue their dreams.
