Welcome to the fundraiser to help Tyler “T” Lang study abroad at the British American Drama Academy(BADA)!
Hello, my name is Tyler "T" Lang! I am a rising Senior Musical Theatre Major at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
At Howard, I have grown as an actor and writer, earning the Silent Trailblazer and Curator of the Year Award for bringing CHANGES Off-Broadway with fellow students. I also attended La MaMa’s Playwrights Retreat in Italy through scholarship support, strengthening my commitment to global storytelling. These experiences have prepared me for this next step as a young, emerging artist and trailblazer. I strive to represent Howard in the best way and to inspire future generations.
I am excited to share that I have been accepted into the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford program, a highly selective international acting intensive! This opportunity will allow me to refine my technique, expand my artistic perspective, and continue the lineage of distinguished BADA alumni such as Chadwick Boseman, Da’vine Joy Randolph, Paul Giamatti & Orlando Bloom.
BADA’s Midsummer in Oxford Program, currently celebrating its 42nd year, is one of the world’s best-known intensive and international acting courses. The program, based in the historic Magdalen College at the University of Oxford, is designed for emerging and committed actors over the age of eighteen and focuses on classical theatre craft with an emphasis on Shakespeare. Participants study and live at Magdalen alongside the BADA Faculty, made up of leading international theatre teaching artists.
I am fundraising to attend the BADA Midsummer in Oxford Program this summer, a life-changing opportunity for my growth as an actor and artist. I am always looking for opportunities that will challenge me and refine my craft at the highest level, and this program does exactly that.
I am asking for your help to attend BADA's Midsummer in Oxford Program. Even sharing this GoFundMe link among family or friends who are able to give puts me one step closer to making my dream a reality, gaining international experience, and bringing that knowledge back to my work and my community. My fundraising goal is $2,800, which will help cover the following costs of the Midsummer in Oxford program, including:
- Program tuition
- Housing at Magdalen College Campus
- Travel to and from the UK
- Living expenses while in the UK studying
I look forward to being surrounded by fellow artists who share the same passion and love for the craft as me! Being surrounded by that kind of community challenges you, and it forces you to grow, to listen, and to see your work from new perspectives. I know that being in that space will not only sharpen my skills but also expand my artistic voice.
If you are unable to donate at this time, even sharing this Fundraiser with someone who believes in the arts and its storytellers would also mean a lot! Thank you for your support and for believing in my journey, and for your help to get me to my goal by 5/22.
