Sylvester has spent his life surviving outdoors near a local restaurant, one of several stray cats I feed every day. Life on the streets has been hard on him. Years of fighting have left scars across his head and face. He's still recovering from a painful bite wound that developed into an abscess on his back, and now he's battling a severe eye infection that caused his eye to swell completely shut. Despite everything he's endured, Sylvester is a sweet, trusting cat who still runs to greet me every day when I come to feed him.

When I saw how badly infected his eye had become, I knew he couldn't stay outside any longer. I took him to the veterinarian for treatment and brought him to my home so he could recover somewhere warm, safe, and comfortable. Once he's healthy enough, he'll also be neutered as part of his medical care, giving him the best chance at a healthier, happier future.
