This little gorgeous girl Summer was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia ( aml) on the 11th of Feb 2022. This was absolutely devastating news to her amazing parents Leanne and Ashley. Almost straight away Summer started very intense chemo . It was at this time I met them . My son was on the same ward at the RVI . I could not get over how much energy Summer had for a little lady that had had such high level treatment she ran around that ward . I remember her and her dad on little trikes race around. She always had the biggest smile and loved a chat while checking in on the other kids . I think that makes especially horrible to see summer now she is unable to walk for longer than a few steps .

After finding out the genetics of Summers aml Leanne and Ash where told that sadly she needed have a stem cell transplant. This happened on the 6th of June by unrelated donor. Not long after this summer beginning to experience very harsh side effects of the transplant she become very poorly and had a really hard time one of the side effects included gvhd if the lungs . As Summer always does she battled on and after 4 months she managed to get home still feeling the side effects of the last 7 months however the transplant was a success Summer was 100% donar cells and no longer had any signs of cancer she was in remission . .

Sadly that was not too last long Summer was re admitted to the RVI on the 4th of September and very quickly she become very poorly it was then the realized the severalty of the scarring on Summers lungs from the gvhd she had to be put on oxygen 24/7 and sadly to this day that has been summers life.

There is so much this tiny little angel has had to deal with since that day she has fought so hard and been throu so much but you'll never see her without her cheeky smile and maybe even sticking her tongue out .
This is where we need your help . Yesterday horrendously Leanne and Ash where taken to a private room with there consultant and other specialist nurses to be given the devastating news that her lungs where so bad there is nothing more medically the can do to help Summer . They advised this amazing parents to prepare themselves that Summer has very little time left ( anything from a few months to a year or so )and they should take her home and make as many memories as the can .
As you can imagine every one is heartbroken. Leanne and ash will be trained on all the medical equipment Summer will need at home including oxygen constantly and TPN feeds . So for now Summer will stay at the RVI till there home has everything they need. But we need you to help us make this time they have left as special as it can be an try and take away any financial worries as you know the running cost if the equipment will be huge. But give the circumstances the last thing they need is to worrying. We also want to be able to give summer and especially her amazing sister Brooke some memories of fun times together . Brooke will be able to look back on in years to come. Brooke has been without her family all together for nearly a year now let's get her smile back too . They all missed Christmas together so let's give them the best Christmas in march that anyone had seen ! If you can give anything at all you have no idea how much you'll be helping this family . No one deserves to be going throu this at 3 years old.
I have been given full permission to do this. Leanne was my rock when I was in hospital and I know she is a huge support to other parents too so let's see if we can give them the support and love the desperately need right now . Also want to add both Leanne and Ash are researching every where to see if there is anything outside the NHS that can help summer . So if you have any ideas on where they can look for second opinions please get on touch . The won't stop fighting and looking for other options.,♥️️

Sadly at 6.45pm on the 12th Feb, Summer -Louise passed away peacefully in her Mum and Dad's arms . The speed at which things deteriorated has come as a huge shock to all the family, and has now changed the purpose of this page. Summer-Louise was always full of fun, smiles, loads of energy and a deep love for all her family . She loves Peppa pig , unicorns and all things bright and girly With this in mind, her mum and dad want to give her the biggest and brightest send off they can. I have decided to keep this fundraiser open so any friends, family or the many people that never met Summer but who have been touched by her story can contribute in her memory to help Leanne and ash at this extremely difficult time. Any money raised now will go towards Summers bright and beautiful goodbye service. Anybhelp at all is so appreciated, more than I can explain. The family have been in hospital for the best part of a year, and now find themselves having to plan a funeral as you can only imagine things are very overwhelming right now, so any pressure we can help take off will help them focus on grieving with hopefully a bit less outside stress. Also thinking of Brooke and the help she may need in the coming months to help process the events that have taken place The amount raised so far is unbelievable and I know is a huge help to the family, more than I can explain. But let's give it one final big push to see if we can get to target and help take some more of the burden away from the planning of what no parents should ever have to plan or think about for their child ️
