Hello everyone,
My name is Beth, and I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea to support my sister Paula and her family during an incredibly difficult time.
Paula, her husband Dan, and their autistic daughter Aurianna have faced more challenges than most families should ever have to endure. On top of years of hardship, their home has suffered extensive damage from repeated severe storms, including a devastating hurricane.
Tragically, their insurance denied coverage for much of the damage, leaving them to shoulder the burden alone. Unable to afford critical repairs—like fixing the roof and flooring—the damage worsened over time, leading to mold and further structural issues. Their home is now uninhabitable, and they urgently need to relocate.
There was finally a light at the end of the tunnel: they were blessed with a newer mobile home, located about 30 miles from their current property. They worked tirelessly to coordinate the move—hiring companies to prepare their land and arrange for transport. They were overjoyed and hopeful for the first time in a long while.
But then—disaster struck again. The moving company they hired turned out to be scammers. Not only did they take Paula's money, but they’ve also disappeared—ignoring all calls and messages. Their website has since vanished, and we’re getting little to no response.
While we’re pursuing every avenue to recover what was lost, legal processes take time—and time is something this family simply doesn’t have.
The good news? Everything is ready: the electric poles, the meters, the land. All that’s left is moving the home—but the lowest reliable quote they’ve received is a minimum of $4,000, (not including taxes & fees). It’s a lot, but it includes transporting, setting up, and securing the entire home.
They’ve been working tirelessly since early March to make this dream a reality. They’ve faced setback after setback—but they haven’t given up.
Now, I’m asking: can you help us get them across the finish line?
Any donation—large or small—will make a huge difference. Your kindness could finally give this family the safe, stable home they so desperately need and deserve.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support. This is what community, friendship, and family are all about.
With much gratitude,
Beth
