Help Jen Beat Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Clare Fields and I am raising funds for my friend and fellow teacher, Jen Stamper who is beginning her 2nd battle with breast cancer. All proceeds from this will go directly to Jen to help cover her medical costs and expenses related or due to her diagnosis and treatment.
Meet Jen and her daughter Amiya. Jen is a beloved 1st grade teacher in her hometown of Mishawaka and Amiya, who recently turned 16, is a tennis playing student at the same high school her Mom attended.

Jen was recently diagnosed with "recurrant triple negative breast cancer ". Her first diagnosis and treatment was during COVID. While it could have brought anyone down, Jen persevered - she was a Warrior! Jen wasn't expecting this second occurance, she thought she had beaten it 3 years ago.

Her smile never disappeared!
When she shared her recent diagnosis, a colleague asked Jen, "What really helped you last time, was it the meals, the groceries or is there something we didn't do that we could do this time. Something you really needed." Jen very reluctently answered, "Money". Any type of help is difficult to ask for, money is the most difficult thing to ask for. It is also the last thing a single mother fighting for her life should have to worry about. This is why I am asking for your help.
Jen will begin 4 rounds of chemotherapy, each of which will last 3 weeks. She will have a minimum of 3 months of weekly immunotherapy, which may not be covered by her insurance but is necessary. Her last step will be a mastectomy, which will include the enormous decision of having a single (necessary) or double mastectomy.
Jen will miss the last few weeks of Amiya playing tennis, her 1st graders will end the year with a substitute, she will have to depend on others for all her transportation needs, home upkeep, meals and shopping for the next three months. Her favorite recliner at home has seen better days and will need to be replaced too. (This was where she was most comfortable during her last recovery process.) She will to travel IU Medical to have a 2nd opinion, which will incure travle expenses for her as well. And then there is the $2000.00 deductible to be paid ASAP. The emotional and financial hardships in her future are extraordinary. Even with all this, she found a silver lining, "...luckily it's not during COVID this time so I can be in touch with my awesome friends, family and caregivers!"
Please consider donating to help Jen. Any donation will be appreciated. Thank you!
