Help Rhiannon to Keep Fighting
Donation protected
My sister, Rhiannon Benton, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 days before her 41st birthday last year. Rhiannon had to have a bilateral mastectomy and ended up with complications and multiple surgeries following that initial surgery. Months of chemotherapy which resulted in more complications thrown at her and then followed by skin burning, surgical site opening, radiation treatments. Rhiannon had been out of work the entire time. Rhi (as friends and family call her) had to fight tremendously hard to keep her job and just when she gets to go back, Covid-19 hits! They finally get to go back after Covid and then the surgeons advised her she needed to have another surgery to prevent another cancer from developing. Tuesday (her 42nd birthday) she got some unsettling and concerning news regarding her employment. Today, she received the okay to go back to work and on the way home, her car died. She was advised with the age of her car it is not worth the money to fix it and she should buy a new one. With all of the medical bills rolling in, she cannot afford to fix, let alone buy, a car. My heart breaks each time she gets knocked down and then fights to get back up again. All of that told you a smidgen of things gone wrong and the problems she faced/faces. What it doesn't tell you is how much of a fighter Rhi is. What an amazing, caring, giving person she is. If you are her friend or loved one, she will fight fiercely for you, support you, and love you unconditionally. So many would have broken by now and yet she wakes up every day trying to stay positive and keeps fighting to move forward. On the days she could barely move, she was sending encouraging messages to friends that were having a rough time. On the days she was so sick that she couldn't eat, she was sending a meal to a family that was hearing bad news themselves. Rhi has been lucky to have the encouragement and support from family and friends, I am so grateful for all of them. My little sissy needs some more help now. If you can't give, please say a prayer and do something to show someone you care. Rhi is all about random acts of kindness whether they cost or are free, they may be the hope someone needs to keep going!
