My name is Torey, and I’m excited to share my directorial debut short film, Remember. The film follows a lonely, old man who uses a new form of technology to revisit a memory from his youth that brings him both comfort and regret. When an unexpected visitor arrives, he’s forced to reconsider not just the memory itself, but his relationship with it.
The film grew out of my curiosity about the ways technology increasingly invites us to look backward. As a millennial who’s lived through rapid shifts in how we communicate, store, and replay our lives, I’m interested in how those tools might shape my generation as we age—especially when they promise easy access to moments that feel simpler, warmer, or unresolved. Remember doesn’t frame technology as inherently dangerous or benevolent; instead, it imagines how memory itself could become a product we rely on for comfort, even as it quietly keeps us from moving forward.
The film is now complete, thanks to the incredible support of our cast, crew, and early donors. However, to truly share this story with the world, I need your help. I’m raising funds to submit the film to festivals around the country, as well as covering post-production costs. Every donation, no matter the size, will help bring this film to the big screen and give it a chance to reach audiences everywhere.
The goal of any filmmaker is to see their work on the big screen in front of an audience, and your support can help make that dream a reality. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for being part of this journey!
