Help Peach Breathe: $13K for ICU Care
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Aleksandr, and I never thought I’d be writing this.
On May 17, 2025, our 1-year-old Pomeranian Peach slipped out the front door, rushed into the street, and was hit by a car.
Peach was rushed to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in San Jose, CA. She’s now in the ICU on oxygen with severe pulmonary edema and multiple fractured ribs. The doctors say the next 48 hours are critical, but she has a real chance if we can keep her in intensive care.
The treatment estimate is $12,731. To keep Peach alive we borrowed $5,000 from friends for the initial hospital deposit. We still need $7,000—not only to pay the hospital, but also to repay the people who stepped in during the first terrifying hours.
We do have pet insurance (Healthy Paws, 80 % reimbursement), but insurance money only arrives 1–2 weeks after the claim is processed—long after the hospital bill is due. Until then, every cost falls on us.
Where your help goes
• ICU hospitalization & oxygen cage
• Pain medication, diagnostics, X-rays
• Repaying the emergency loans we took to start treatment
Why your help matters
• Even $5 moves the needle: it keeps Peach breathing today and shows the hospital that we have real support.
• Once insurance pays, we’ll use that reimbursement to pay back the borrowed money—and if there’s any surplus, we’ll donate it to the next emergency pet case.
We’ll post daily updates and full invoices so you can see exactly how Peach is doing and where every dollar goes.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and caring. Peach still wags her tail when she sees us—she’s fighting hard. With your help, she’ll get the second chance she deserves.
With gratitude,
Aleksandr & Renata
