Sunday, September 13th Osvaldo woke up in the ICU with a facial fracture, broken arm, and swelling/bleeding of the brain with no memory of what happened to him. 

He was in ICU for a week under observation having had a few seizures. His head injury most concerning. He still may require hand and possible facial surgery.

Some are saying he hit an unseen pipe in the road but there is a chance that this was a hit and run or targeted attack in Hollywood, CA as Osvaldo was a seasoned cyclist. No one knows what happened and he lost his short term memory.

Osvaldo just started working again after months of being unemployed due to COVID and is at a critical financial need for donations. He is planning on recovering at his apartment in Hollywood and will use the assistance for housing/utility bills and groceries, plus therapy and the mounting medical bills—he is uninsured. Food donations welcomed as well.

Osvaldo is an experienced cyclist as seen in the LifeCycle photo. He has always found joy by pushing the boundaries of the sport, going mile after mile. He also lost his beloved carbon fiber bike during the accident—most of you know he doesn’t drive but bikes most places. Oz has been a LifeCycle cyclist and fundraiser for approximately five years.

If you do not know Oz, he is the kindest, most giving, selfless, and appreciative person you will ever meet. He is in such dire need for help as this year has been devastating—from being laid off for months with no assistance to now this horrific accident. He is currently in a panicked, fragile place and it’s heartbreaking.
