Help Support Nader’s Family After His Passing
It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news: our dear friend and colleague, Nader, has passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Nader was a kind, hardworking soul who devoted over 20 years of his life to the restaurant industry here in Vancouver. Many of you may know him from Gilaneh Restaurant in North Vancouver, BC, where he brought warmth, care, and incredible skill to everything he did, especially the food he lovingly prepared for the community.
In August 2022, Nader was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. From that moment on, his life and his family’s life changed completely. He was no longer able to work, and despite undergoing multiple treatments, his condition continued to worsen. For nearly three years, his wife became his full-time caregiver, all while raising their young son and trying to hold their home together.
The emotional and financial weight of this journey has been overwhelming. Nader and his family faced growing debt, rising living costs, and the heartbreak of watching his health deteriorate. Through all of it, they stayed strong, hopeful, and quiet, never asking for help, even when they desperately needed it.
Now, following Nader’s passing, the family is left not only with immense grief, but also with the sudden and crushing burden of funeral and burial costs in Vancouver, expenses that are far beyond their means. The donations from this fundraiser will go directly to his wife and son to help cover funeral arrangements, burial costs, and to ease the ongoing financial pressure they’ve carried for so long.
Nader fought with courage. His family stood by him with love. Now they need all of us.
Please help us honour Nader’s memory by supporting the family he loved so dearly. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real and lasting impact.
Thank you for standing with them.
