This fundraiser is meant to support our dear trans SW friend and community member in recovering from her partial-facial feminization and breast augmentation surgeries, scheduled for June 18th.

In the midst of a considerable amount of Go Fund Me’s dedicated to matters of life and death, such as money required to support Palestinians in leaving g@z@, or sustaining their lives once they’ve immigrated elsewhere, we want to recognize the importance of mutual aid, community care and prioritizations in choosing which causes to support.

With this in mind, we hope you will consider supporting this fundraiser. In order for our friend to have the appropriate amount of time to rest and recover from her surgeries, she will need to have her rent covered from the months of July to October. Her second facial feminization surgery is scheduled in the Fall, and we are trying to ensure that the period in between both surgeries goes smoothly. Seeing as our friend is a SW, we want to ensure that she is comfortable when she goes back to work, and not rushed by any financial precarity.

This fundraiser is thus preventive and aimed at creating a safety cushion for her during this time. Her rent is $1500/month, and ideally we would like to have it covered between the months of July to October. This adds up to a total of $6000. The extra $1000 will be an addition to her savings for the next surgery in the Fall.
