My name is Tina Warren, and I’m seeking help for my 46-year-old daughter, Lisa Bolognone, a devoted single mother to a bright and ambitious 15-year-old son. Lisa has struggled with digestive issues since childhood, which worsened over the years. For over six years, she has lived with chronic upper stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting — symptoms that were not taken seriously until she was finally diagnosed with Gastroparesis in April 2024.

Before this diagnosis, Lisa endured countless emergency room visits and was even hospitalized in 2020. Yet, the key test that would have identified Gastroparesis was never done. The delay in treatment has caused her condition to deteriorate significantly.

In addition to Gastroparesis, Lisa was diagnosed with a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) — a hole in the heart — that she unknowingly lived with for 42 years. It has since been closed, but it left damage, including Pulmonary Hypertension. She is currently under the care of a cardiologist, with another critical appointment scheduled for May 1st.

Her gastroenterologist has now recommended gastric bypass surgery as her only option. She is undergoing a long pre-surgical process and is expected to have the operation in the next six months.

In addition to her digestive and cardiac conditions, Lisa also lives with:

Hashimoto’s Disease, under treatment with medication

Arthritis in her knees, back, and spine. Her orthopedist has determined she requires knee surgery.

Scoliosis

Suspected autoimmune disorders (Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis), currently pending rheumatology evaluation.

Lisa fought hard to stay employed through the pain and hospital visits. But after years of trying to balance her health and job, she was let go from her full-time position in June 2024. She briefly found remote work in December, but due to her worsening health and frequent medical appointments, she was asked to resign in February 2025.

Despite the challenges, Lisa remains determined to heal, support her son, and return to work. Her son is a freshman in high school, an honor student, and a proud member of JROTC. Their current home has been their stable place for over 9 years, and with Lisa’s medical care now moving in the right direction, we’re hoping to avoid the further trauma of displacement during this fragile time.

Lisa is currently too sick to work, and our family — along with a few kind friends — have been supporting her as best we can. However, we are now at the point where we need outside help. We are seeking assistance to help cover six months of basic living expenses, which we hope will carry her through until:

Her Social Security Disability application is processed

She receives the medical care she needs

She can begin to recover and return to work

She has reached out to multiple local and national charities, but many have exhausted their funds. Government programs are overwhelmed and have long waitlists.
