Help Alexandrea Fight Thyroid Cancer

Alexandrea was excited to start her sophomore year. She was looking forward to basketball season, softball, spending time with her friends, and everything that comes with a new school year.

Then our lives changed with one phone call:

“Your daughter has cancer.”

Alexandrea has been diagnosed with Stage 2 papillary thyroid carcinoma, a malignant form of thyroid cancer. At this time, her entire thyroid is affected by cancer, it has spread to her lymph nodes, and the left side of her neck has been extensively involved. She now faces a long road of appointments, surgery, treatment, and recovery.

No family is ever prepared to hear the words, “Your child has cancer.” While our focus is on helping Alexandrea heal, the financial burden is growing quickly.

We are asking for help to cover:

* Travel expenses to and from medical appointments (every appointment is 2 hours and 45 minutes away from home)

* Medical bills and hospital costs

* Medications and other out-of-pocket expenses

* Meals, lodging, and other unexpected costs during treatment

Even before treatment has fully begun, the expenses have been overwhelming. One of Alexandrea’s first prescriptions was just four pills, and it cost $151.50 out of pocket.
