Okay, let me be real with you because that’s kind of my thing.
My daughter Josselyn is a college sophomore at MSU who just got accepted into a study abroad program in Greece specifically for Kinesiology, which is her major and her whole heart. They barely accept sophomores. She’s been on the waitlist since February, and honestly we both kind of stopped expecting it to happen.
Then it did. She leaves June 4th. And it costs Nearly $10,000.
Here’s the problem … because she got off the waitlist so late, we missed every scholarship deadline by about a week. MSU doesn’t offer financial aid for summer programs. And I’m a single mom doing my absolute best, which is a lot, but it’s not $10,000-in-six-weeks a lot.
So here I am. On the internet. Asking for help. (My daughter is mortified. She told me not to do this. I did it anyway because that’s what moms do.)
Here’s what you should know about this kid: she works while she’s at school. She works multiple jobs every summer. She has a 3.8 GPA. She never asks for anything. She got waitlisted for a program most sophomores don’t even get considered for, and she just quietly waited and hoped and kept going.
She’s extraordinary. And she deserves this.
Every dollar goes directly toward program fees, tuition, and travel. If you can give, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t, sharing this is just as meaningful.
Let’s get this girl to Greece.
