This year has been incredibly difficult for my mom. After my dad was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in June, our family was still reeling from the loss when, in October, my mom suffered a massive heart attack. The doctors told us she is lucky to be alive, but her recovery journey is just beginning.

My mom has faced more than her share of challenges, and she’s always shown incredible strength and resilience. 2025 has truly been the hardest year of her life. After her heart attack, she made the life-changing decision to quit smoking—a habit she’s had for over 20 years. She’s doing everything in her power to give herself the best chance at recovery, and we are so proud of the progress she’s made. My sister and I want to do everything we can to support her as she continues to fight for her health.

All of her doctors have strongly recommended cardiac rehab, which could significantly improve her chances of survival and quality of life. Unfortunately, the co-pay for each visit is high, and with so many visits needed, the total cost is overwhelming. On top of that, my mom has had to pay off my dad’s medical bills, his funeral expenses, and now she is paying for her new medical bills. Because of these financial pressures, she is considering skipping cardiac rehab, even though it could make all the difference for her health.

My sister and I want to do everything we can to help our mom get the care she needs. Our community helped us earlier this year with my dad’s chemo costs, and our family will never be able to thank you all enough for your support back then. Our parents were truly touched by the kindness we received. We know that times are hard for everyone, but every little bit helps.
