Oxygen for India

What: Meet increased demand for Oxygen Concentrator in India in this time of crisis

Why:
India needs help, now. There have been at least 20,664,900 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in India, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare. As of Wednesday morning (5/5/2021), 226,188 people had died. India is reporting 450,000 new cases every day. Right now there is a serious shortage of oxygen production so there is essentially no oxygen available to refill cylinders and that’s why oxygen concentrators are really being useful. Oxygen Concentrators (OC) can help by providing a steady oxygen supply to patients and prevent mild cases from becoming critical.
We have the unique ability to coordinate between the US and India inside of our own family – my Dad is a foundation of the community in India with medical expertise and connections and we are connected to many people with a heart for India in the US.  https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/world/asia/india-coronavirus-cases.html

How:
2 Teams, 1 Mission
US team – I along with my husband Nitin are collecting funds and gathering OCs from US manufacturers and delivering them to India
India Team- My Dad is a veteran community helper, a doctor a founder of a charitable trust, and ex-president of the local Indian Medical Association. He has established a team of volunteers in the capital city of India, Delhi, and 3 other states- Rajasthan, Punjab, and Maharashtra to provide help and free care for Covid patients. My dad’s volunteer team consists of primarily doctors, businessmen, and just some people with a good heart to help.
My dad's team is helping by:
-Finding beds for Covid patients
-Providing food and transportation for patients, medical staff, and medical equipment
-Attending patients in ICUs
The India Team will be responsible for collecting OCs that we send from here and be distributing them to the hospitals with the most urgent need. The team will evaluate the need on a weekly basis and will relocate the devices as needed.
