Help Helen Attend Grad School in Japan!

Hi everyone! On Feb, 26 I received some wonderful news ! I finally was accepted to Sophia University's Graduate School of Education. I love being a teacher and obtaining my masters is my next step in my career path. I first started the process of applying to grad school three years ago. First, I will say a bit about myself. My name is Helen Aracena and I am a NYC native!  I grew up Washington Heights my entire life and then I spent four years pursuing my undergraduate degree at Bard College. After working hard for four years I successfully obtained my Anthropology degree with a focus on asian studies. During my final year of school, I applied to the JET (Japanese Exchange Teaching ) program and was accepted to work as an assistant language teacher (ALT). I moved to Japan under the JET program and I worked as a high school teacher for a year. Although my experience as a JET was life-changing. I could not help, but yearn for more. I always saw graduate school as the next step to push myself. In 2018, I applied for the MEXT scholarship and was swiftly rejected after putting in so much work and time. I spent two years working and figuring out my passions in life. No matter how much I tried to ignore graduate school as a possibility it always came back into my life in the form of peers or acquittances who were attending graduate school in Japan. My graduate school research will be a comparative study between public and Japanese schools and its affects on a child's identity. I intend to specifically focus on children of mixed background.

I applied for a scholarship, but unfortunately even with my scholarship my tuition amount is extremely high. I would have to pay 5,000 USD for my first term. I work two jobs and I still am living paycheck to paycheck. Like many young adults working to support themselves, I do not have 5000 dollars in my savings. This amount is due to the university by March 25. This fee will cover for my first term,
My Spring semester tuition is 5,000 ( I am focusing on archiving this goal first)
My fall semester tuition is 2,800 ( I hope to keep my campaign open a little longer to get this one covered)* Depending on how this campaign is doing I might raise the goal since I have TWO terms of tuition to cover.

Here is my acceptance letter as proof :) Please help! I just want to be an amazing wonderful teacher and educate the children.

*I need to transfer the money from USD to yen, I am adding extra due to transfer fees! Apologies !*
