Help the Eubanks through their Grief

Dearest Community,

In April, our family received the devastating news that our mother was sick with cancer. This time, a rare bone cancer known as multiple myeloma. Initially, this news came down on us like a ton of bricks. However, my siblings and I immediately sprung into action, having cared for an ailing parent before. We’ve rearranged a lot to meet her need for 24/7, around-the-clock care.

Known as “Moms” to many of our friends, her kind heart and tenacious spirit have carried her this far, and she needs our help to keep going. She is a true survivor; we believe she can and will get through this. We refuse to let her carry the stress associated with the financial burden of being sick. Cancer treatment, like all medical care, is expensive. We have already incurred a few medical bills from her extended hospital stay and have had to make sudden renovations to the home to make it more accessible for her. We anticipate a mountain of more bills and expenses, especially during the next few months of treatment.

With the encouragement of friends and loved ones, we’ve launched this GoFundMe with the hope that we can ease some of the financial stress during this incredibly challenging time. The funds will go towards direct medical expenses such as hospital bills, ambulance transport, co-pays for medicine, physician services, diagnostic tests, wheelchair rental, and more. It will also be used for indirect costs such as utility bills, sanitary supplies, OTC medicine, gas (traveling to the cancer center 2-3x a week), parking, administrative expenses, and time spent juggling work and full-time care.

To reach our goal, a team of supporters and I developed a fundraising strategy that includes this GoFundMe page and a connected social media-based campaign for rapid, small donations. All proceeds are being counted towards our target goal: $50,000.

Our goal may seem ambitious, but we know that it is possible. This page will be updated monthly with our progress, so stay tuned and share this campaign far and wide!

With Love & Gratitude
