Help Burke Principal Carol Moore heal frm a stroke
38 YEARS.
That’s how long Carol Bradley-Moore was an educator in Boston Public Schools.
Mrs. Moore taught Elementary School children. She taught Middle School children. She taught High School children. She was the proud Principal who led the Jeremiah Burke School’s $49 Million renovation, taking over only a short while after it had lost its accreditation (That's her on the left, with her Bulldogs hoodie on!!!).
Mrs. Moore was there for thousands of Boston’s children, through some of our city’s toughest times. Even when it was hard. Even when her husband passed, leaving her to raise their 2 children as a widowed single Mom, she never quit.
Carol Moore a fighter.
And now she’s fighting for her life.
In a cruel twist, Mrs. Moore had a stroke soon after retiring, and it stole a lot of her functioning and mobility. Her son Justin and daughter Stephanie have been giving her loving care around-the-clock --- tending to her needs, taking care of her affairs, paying the bills, dealing with doctors and decisions and constant emergencies. Her kids love their Mom so much, but her health continues to decline, and between the attention Mrs. Moore needs, and the cost of medical bills, the family is running out of options.
That’s where you can help.
I’m asking you to do 2 things:
- Donate to Mrs. Moore’s GoFundMe
- Share this fundraiser on your social media/Email/wherever you can
Why is this important?
Educators sacrifice. They do the sacred work of nurturing our community. Teachers do some of the hardest, most important work of our society, even though they know it will never make them rich. Mrs. Moore knew that, and still spent 4 decades helping her community's children grow and learn. We have an obligation to be there for her, and to be as loyal to her as she was to us.
My name is Jeff. I'm a 25 year neighbor and friend of the family. Her son Justin is like a brother to me. When I suggested this fundraiser, they were hesitant, because they’re private and they’re proud, but I begged them to allow it because I know the power of community, and I know what a profound impact Mrs. Moore had. And this family has a right to be proud---they've done everything their community has asked of them. Now, they need something back. 100% of donations will go to housing, accommodations, and medical bills for Mrs. Moore, so that she can continue to get the care she needs, and keep the home she worked hard for. We can’t heal her, but we can give her and her family peace of mind. We want to show them they’re not fighting this alone.
Thank you so much. Your donation really makes a difference for a great woman, and her family. If this resonated with you at all, please share.
Sincerely,
The Moore Family and Jeff
