My name is Sara Gravitt and I work in the Office of Institutional Research on the Reynolda Campus at Wake Forest University. One of the many benefits of working on this gorgeous campus is the incredible community of friends we enjoy across departments. Along with all of you, I am fortunate to be friends with our colleague, Brenda McGrail, who currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the School of Business. Brenda has been a part of our campus community for 12 years and a friend to many. In 2012, Brenda's career at Wake Forest began in the Office of the Dean of the College, soon followed by several years in Campus Life, followed by time in the Legal Department and currently in the School of Business. In addition to managing her career on campus, Brenda is mother to Alexis and Anthony, and married to Brian who is bedridden due to Multiple Sclerosis.

This past Monday, December 2, 2024 Brenda learned the sad news from Ghana of her Daddy's passing. Brenda is in the process of making plans for her and her children's travel to Ghana to attend the State Funeral of her Dad. Based on a departure date of January 23 and a return on February 1, airline tickets are estimated to cost approximately $4000. I've set the goal of this GoFundMe at $5000 to cover fees of GoFundMe. Should funds collected exceed the goal, they will be used as incidentals during travel or Brian's care in their absence.
