Support Aazsa's Healing Yoga Workshops for BIPOC

Donation protected
Greetings! I am Aunye ( otherwise known as Aazsa). I am a Black, Queer artist of many modalities, poet, Crystal rootwork healer, event curator and Yogi. I became interested in Yoga at the age of 17, which shifted my life into a trajectory of self mastery through this sacred, ancient teaching. I began sharing this enthusiasm for the intersection of poetic introspection and yogic meditation with youth through a workshop series I created while living in Costa Rica in 2015 working as a ESL teacher for six months. The youth were inspired to learn new ways to find peace in troubling circumstances, as many in whom I worked with suffered a poverty I would never know. I brought this fire of inspiration back to the US where I have integrated Yoga and the arts as essential lifestyle skills for processing emotions through electives and careful lesson planning for Elementary and Middle School Youth Afterschool Programs for the past 7 years.

This March I will finally be certified as an accredited Yoga Instructor. This training has offered me deeper wisdom on how to facilitate classes with greater depth and much more resources. I feel incredibly called to continue the effort in sharing to not only youth but BIPOC (Black Indigenous People Of Color) of all ages (especially those who may have not previously thought it feasible).

I am inspired to share Yoga through a Magical Realist - Afro Futurist perspective with humbled respect for its roots. My praxis encourages the intersection of artistic appreciation, spiritual awareness and psycho-cybernetic healing modalities tinged with storytelling as an access point to history and self creation guiding folks toward positive generational changes.

My goal is to create a culture of youth and young adults that feel welcome to engage in yoga as a lifestyle practice for generational healing liberation.

I aim to create spaces of inclusion that celebrate the kaleidoscope of the human experience.

I have been out of work since May 2023 ,due to the decision to rehabilitate after suffering PTSD from harmful work environments and sexual harassment at my previous position. The intensive Yoga training I have been in has also required complete commitment of class six days a week. Providing an acute awareness of just how challenging it is to find ways to keep myself financially sustained whilst I am in the program let alone, after my graduation.

The blessing I am requesting will be used to help support...
The remainder of my 200hr Yoga Certification-process.
Transportation funds, nutrition and housing (rent) while I earn money, find studios/ schools and other organizations to partner with.
Website creation/Podcast and branding tools which will be pivotal in sharing my story through multifaceted platforms.
Expansion into a 300hr Trauma Informed praxis.

Thank You in advance for your donation!
It means the world to me to be supported as a Black Woman doing her best to live her dream.
