Support Amanda’s fight against cancer

We’re reaching out to you on behalf of our amazing sister, daughter, and friend who you may know has been bravely fighting this dreaded disease for nearly two years. 

Her courage and tenacity throughout this journey have been truly inspirational and anyone who knows Amanda is aware of her strength of body and mind and her unwavering determination.  

She is seeking advice from renowned cancer and health specialists so as to leave no stone unturned however this comes with quite a hefty price tag. Utilising the latest research and seeking out the best treatments is expensive.

Recently, she was approved for an innovative treatment only available in Perth which has meant several costly trips to Perth in addition to the treatment costs, which will only partially be covered by Medicare. 

Other treatments, such as her upcoming pelvis surgery, are covered by Medicare, however the travel expenses for Tim & the kids to come to Adelaide, plus the loss of work for Tim to be by her side, are considerable. 

These are just some of many various treatments within reach should she have the funding. 

Up until now Amanda and family have been able to cover costs, but to ensure this monumental fight is sustainable and eventually successful, we are reaching out to her friends and family for financial support. 

We have been overwhelmed by everyone who has already provided support to Amanda, Tim and the kids, whether it’s been a cooked meal, taking the kids out for a while, providing a few words of support or a friendly distraction on a tough day. 

Your kindness and generosity have been incredible; however, we are also aware that not everyone is in a position to provide support in this way. 

Despite considerable hesitancy, and after much encouragement from her friends and family, Amanda has agreed to allow us to start this page on her behalf. 

Every contribution, big or small will make a real difference to reducing the significant financial pressure associated with accessing every potentially lifesaving treatment available. 

Your continued support is hugely appreciated as Amanda and her family fight to retain a degree of normality and enjoy the simple pleasures of family life. 

Amanda wants little more than to continue creating memories with her amazing husband and young kids, family, and friends. That’s our goal too, and we are determined to do everything within our power to make that goal a reality.
