Help 9yo John with kidney disease battle

In October 2019 John went into a routine paediatrician visit and found out he had Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Double kidney disease with both only functioning at 20%.

If not treated, most patients with FSGS will eventually develop complete renal failure and require dialysis or a kidney transplant to survive. Even with treatment, many patients will still eventually require dialysis. After only a few month John was on Dialysis.

His parents were overwhelmed with the amount of information about treatments and medications that John would need in the upcoming future, including dialysis, G-tube feeding and an imminent Kidney transplant.

This past year John  had to miss out on school and went to Childrens Hospital 2-3 times a week via seabus and taxi to for bloodwork and checkups.

John is on a Kidney transplant donors list and after the procedure he will need to go back and forth to the hospital every 3-4 days.

All of the traveling and work missed took a toll on his parents financially. What we want to do is help them out as a community this Christmas. John and his parents have had a fantastic attitude throughout all of the discomfort and we would love to help take the weight off their shoulders.

Theses funds will help pay for hospital trips, basic needs ( food, rent, transportation and medication ) and relieve some stress off this loving families shoulders.
