Help 9-Year-Old Hafsa Save the Feeling in Her Hand After Med

Hafsa is only 9 years old. Until recently, she was a healthy, active child with no medical issues. Everything changed after a simple wrist fracture.
Following the injury to her left forearm, a cast was applied too tightly and left on for too long. Over time, Hafsa’s pain became severe. Her fingers turned blue. When the cast was finally removed, the damage was already done.
Medical examinations and an ElectroNeuroMyoGraphy (ENMG) confirmed the seriousness of her condition:
Volkmann ischemic contracture of the left forearm
Severe nerve damage affecting the median, ulnar, and radial nerves
Neurotmesis (complete nerve injury) of the left median nerve
Axonotmesis (severe nerve fiber damage) of the ulnar and radial nerves
Loss of motor responses and sensory function in parts of her hand
Muscle wasting and ongoing pain
In simple terms: Hafsa is losing movement and sensation in her hand.
Doctors attempted an initial surgery to limit the damage, but it was not enough. Specialists are now clear: Hafsa needs further, specialised surgery urgently to preserve whatever nerve function and sensation can still be saved. Without it, the damage may become permanent.
This is not cosmetic. This is about whether a child will be able to feel, move, write, play, and live independently with her hand.
Hafsa’s family is doing everything they can, but the cost of specialised surgery, follow-up care, and rehabilitation is overwhelming. No family should have to choose between finances and their child’s future.
We are asking for help so Hafsa can have:
Access to the surgery she urgently needs
A real chance to recover sensation and function
A future that is not defined by avoidable disability
Every donation, no matter the size, directly supports Hafsa’s medical care. If you can’t donate, please share. Awareness matters.
Let’s give Hafsa the chance to grow up with dignity, independence, and hope.
Thank you for standing with her.
