HELP 9-YEAR-OLD BRODY FIGHT HIS CANCER BATTLE!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sharon Rodgers and I'm a close friend of the Weinert Family.
Last week 9-year-old Brody Weinert and his family received the devastating news that he has cancer. After a knock to his leg on the sports field led to scans, it was discovered that Brody has Osteosarcoma, a cancer in his thigh bone (Femur).
Brody lives in Adelaide with his Mum Karina, Dad Adrian, older sister Lola and his best mate Luna the family dog. He loves outdoor activities with his family, fishing, swimming, investigating the bush and he is very interested in animals and enjoys chilling out with Luna. He is also very keen on baseball and loves playing softball.
Brody's team of medical specialists at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide have formulated his treatment plan and it is going to be tough! He will start chemotherapy this Wednesday, with 6 rounds of chemo over 10 weeks. This will be followed by surgery to remove his affected femur bone and replace it with his tibia bone from his lower leg. Many months of further chemotherapy will then begin.
Our goal is to support Brody and his family and to reduce some of the additional financial and emotional pressures during this challenging time so they can focus all their energy on Brody and his treatment and recovery.
