Meet Ms. Rose James, a beloved elder who needs our help. Beloved Judson Memorial Church congregant and long-time West Village, NYC community member, Rose James (affectionately known as Ms. Rose), is a vibrant 91-year-old woman who has spent her life caring for others. Now, she needs our support.

Despite her strength and resilience, Ms. Rose requires 24-hour home health aides to ensure she remains safe, comfortable, and cared for in the home she has cherished for decades. Unfortunately, financial constraints have made it increasingly difficult to afford this essential care. Without it, Ms. Rose faces the heartbreaking reality of losing the support she depends on for daily activities—bathing, meal preparation, medication management, and companionship.

Why Your Help Matters

In February, Ms. Rose's care team swiftly organized a successful emergency appeal, raising $5,987 from 43 generous community members. Over the past month and a half, Ms. Rose has expressed immense gratitude for the kindness and support she has received. However, as we work to solidify a long-term care plan for her, we are still in urgent need of additional resources to ensure her ongoing well-being and stability. Your continued support can make a meaningful difference in securing the care she deserves.

We are working to raise an additional $25,000 to help cover the cost of Ms. Rose’s home health aides for the next two and a half months, during which we will finalize a plan for her long-term living arrangements. This support will ensure that Ms. Rose continues to receive the compassionate and dignified care she deserves in the comfort of her home. Every dollar contributed goes directly toward maintaining her quality of life, allowing her to age in place with respect, dignity, and security. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be used to cover additional expenses related to Ms. Rose’s care, such as hygiene products, food, and other essential needs.
