My name is Diana, and I am part of a group of Colombians living in Ireland who came together after learning about the devastating losses suffered by families in remote communities of Nariño, Colombia. We are independent Colombian citizens, not a foundation or charity, organizing this solidarity fundraiser to provide urgent assistance to families who have lost homes, crops, water systems, tools, and essential belongings.
Our goal is to raise at least €1,800 to support 90 affected families in the remote veredas (hamlets) of La Carrera, La Loma, El Huilque, El Palacio, El Carrizal, and Villanueva, in the Los Andes–Sotomayor area of Nariño. The assistance will be delivered on the ground through FUNDASSUE Foundation (NIT: 900983706-3), which will serve as our logistics channel in Colombia.
Why We Need Your Help
The fires caused losses that go far beyond damaged property. Several families lost their homes and household belongings, while farming families lost the crops, land, equipment, and water systems they depend on for food and income.
According to the verified damage assessment, families lost coffee, banana, cassava, maize, cocoa, grape, avocado, lemon, and mango crops, as well as pastureland and productive land. Some families lost between half a hectare and four hectares of productive land. Irrigation hoses, water systems, agricultural tools, storage areas, fencing, farm structures, and household belongings were also destroyed.
Among the affected households are children, pregnant women, older adults, and people with disabilities. These families now need immediate assistance while also trying to rebuild the livelihoods they depend on.
How Your Donation Can Help
Based on the verified assessment and needs confirmed on the ground, donations may help provide emergency food, school supplies, essential household items, agricultural tools, irrigation materials, seeds, agricultural inputs, and basic home-repair materials.
Support may include:
- Emergency food such as rice, beans, pasta, cooking oil, flour, canned food, and other basic groceries.
- School supplies such as notebooks, stationery, and backpacks for affected children.
- Household essentials including cooking utensils, blankets, bedding, buckets, and cleaning supplies.
- Agricultural tools such as machetes, hoes, shovels, pruning shears, and work gloves.
- Irrigation hoses, connectors, valves, pipes, and other water infrastructure materials.
- Seeds and planting materials to help families replant destroyed crops.
- Basic construction materials such as roofing sheets, timber, cement, nails, and wire.
Solidarity Donation Levels
These are symbolic impact levels intended to help donors understand the potential impact of their contribution. They are not products, rewards, or purchases, and actual assistance will depend on verified needs and available funds.
- $10 — Basic Food Basket
- $25 — School Kit
- $50 — Agricultural Recovery Supplies
- $100 — Family Emergency Support
- $250 — Household & Livelihood Recovery
- $500 — Major Family Recovery Support
- $1,000 — Comprehensive Family Recovery Support
Where Your Donation Goes
100% of net funds raised will be dedicated to humanitarian assistance. The funds will be used to purchase and deliver the most urgent supplies identified through the verified damage assessment and priorities confirmed on the ground.
FUNDASSUE Foundation will serve as our logistics channel in Colombia and help coordinate the delivery of assistance directly to affected communities. As FUNDASSUE does not have an institutional bank account, its Board has authorized the Legal Representative’s account as a temporary humanitarian channel for this initiative.
We are committed to transparency throughout the process. Purchases will be documented through receipts and invoices where possible, while photographs and videos will document the delivery of assistance. A public report will also explain how the funds were used, what assistance was provided, and which communities were reached. The final report will be prepared within 60 days of implementation.
Help Us Reach These Families
For these communities, recovery means having food on the table, restoring access to water, replacing essential tools, repairing homes, and being able to plant and work again. Your contribution can help provide the practical support families need to begin rebuilding their lives and livelihoods.
If you can donate, please consider contributing today. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, Colombian communities, and others who may be able to help can make a meaningful difference.
Every contribution becomes part of a collective effort to support families who have lost so much.
