Hello chess community and friends,

Our son, Srihan, has been officially selected to represent Team Canada at the upcoming FIDE World Youth Chess Championship in Spain.

Having earned this incredible opportunity just before his 6th birthday, he will be one of the youngest players proudly representing Canada in the Under-7 (U7) division.

Srihan currently trains with Leopard Chess School (LCS) in Canada, where he continues to develop his skills through structured coaching, tournament preparation, and competitive play. Srihan’s dedication to chess has already been remarkable. As a five-year-old, he achieved the remarkable feat of defeating a 1700 FIDE-rated player, proving his exceptional determination and strategic focus.

While the organizers cover Srihan’s tournament registration and player accommodation, the family is responsible for several other important expenses, including travel, accompanying-parent costs, and additional coaching and preparation. With many expenses paid in Euros, the overall cost of the trip is significant.

We want to give Srihan every opportunity to focus on his games and perform at his best. To help make this journey possible, we are seeking donations and sponsorships toward these essential expenses.

Flights: Round-trip travel to Spain for Srihan and an accompanying parent

Srihan has worked incredibly hard for this opportunity, and representing Canada on the world stage is a very special milestone in his young chess journey.

We truly believe this is a long-term journey that does not end with just one international tournament. Exhausting all of our resources on a single event would definitely hinder our ability to plan for future international competitions, which is why we are seeking community support. Our ultimate goal is to see if he can become one of the youngest Grandmasters (GM) in the world while proudly representing the Maple flag.
