Help 56 rescue horses recover from the Qld rains
Donation protected
Hi there
My name is Claire and last week I visited my friend Sharon of 30 years on the Sunshine Coast. She bought a property 7 months ago to rehome 56 horses she has rescued. However, the constant rain has caused the horses to lose condition and she needs help to get them back to the way they were. The vet advised that the horses are drinking "green water" - meaning all the nutrients from the grass and soil have been washed away. The horses are her sole focus and she looks after them on her own and with very limited funds.
We would be extremely grateful for assistance with funding or donations of lucerne hay. With current prices and our estimate of 10 bales per day for least 6 weeks for the 56 horses, the cost would be approx - $120 x 42 days = $5,040.
Also, crushed sandstone (plus a roller) and/or Roadbase is needed to repair the driveways and help with other yard/ground areas. As well as the product, some "manpower" to help with this would be amazing!
The photo below is of me with my rescue horse Daly that Sharon looks after. We are desperate to return to happier times as displayed in the photo and would be so appreciative of any support you can provide.
Thank you so much for considering donating and I am very happy for a phone call to discuss any thoughts or ideas you might have. My number is 0412 588 098.
