Please help us leave Texas and move back to Colorado safely.
We moved to Texas and became homeless after we agreed to take care of an empty family home. The family had lied to us telling us that everything had already been agreed upon with the rest of the family. Halfway down to Texas we were notified that we weren't allowed to live in the house anymore. We couldn't go back because our uhaul was already in Texas, and we didn't have any money left.
We've had uncertain housing for months now and after several medical emergencies and the unfortunate passing of one of our cats, we are in debt and unable to save up enough to get out on our own. We are trying to leave Texas ASAP due to bills being put in place that put all of us in immediate danger. We are already struggling with the current laws and political climate and need to leave before it gets any worse.
UPDATE: We've been notified that we might be losing our current housing soon. The family is planning on selling the house we're staying in soon. They didn't tell us when but they have a history of not communicating well so we most likely won't be notified much in advance. Theyre already making efforts to start on it and told us to start looking at other places. Our personal deadline is end of July/beginning of August. I don't think any of us can stand being homeless again.
