While they prevailed before the California Labor Commission, Hay and LA Direct have appealed, and have also appealed the almost $25,000 in discovery sanctions recently assessed against them.
These women’s battle to make the industry safer for all performers has cost them greatly. Out of fear for their personal safety, several have moved out of state. Some have left the industry altogether and the others have suffered damage to their careers. They have been brutally attacked in websites linked to Hay’s associates.
