Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,

I am organizing a fundraiser for my niece's son Hakim, who is residing in the Philippines and has been diagnosed with a critical heart condition. His parents are facing significant financial hardship, and the cost of the surgery is well beyond what they can afford. Despite our personal contributions, additional support is urgently needed to help cover the medical expenses.

Hakim is a 4-year old boy in urgent need of open-heart surgery to treat his Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). He has been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease, specifically Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) since he was a baby. Despite his young age, Hakim has shown an incredible strength of spirit, enduring medications and the challenges of his condition with a resilience that inspires everyone around him.

The surgery is crucial as it will close the hole between the two ventricles of his heart (see the below image for reference), allowing blood to flow normally and giving Hakim the chance to grow up strong and healthy.

While the procedure brings hope, the cost of this life-saving surgery is overwhelming for Hakim’s family, who are doing everything in their power to provide him with the care he needs.
