Help 4-month-old baby Leo beat cancer.

Dallas and Ana Maltby are new second-time parents to baby Leo and have just heard the words no parent wants to hear uttered when speaking about their baby boy - cancer.
Baby Leo was admitted to the ICU on 23 Oct after Ana would not let her instincts be pushed aside. She knew something was wrong with baby Leo and started seeking answers. Baby Leo was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer that has been found throughout his chest cavity and on his spine. On 24 Oct, after his initial biopsy and bone marrow draw, they immediately started a steroid treatment to reduce the inflammation. They began chemotherapy that same day to try and halt the spread and reduce what has already been found. There are still many unknowns at this time. Still, the team's speed and accuracy in attending to baby Leo give hope during this dark time.
Neuroblastoma requires treatment like chemotherapy, complex surgery or many surgeries, and in some cases, radiation. Leo's parents, Dallas and Ana, are still trying to absorb what has happened in this short time. From baby Leo being a normal baby full of life and love, always happy and cheerful, developing a sense of personality and only beginning to start his journey through life, he is now facing a different path and new fights ahead.
Dallas and Ana themselves are only at the beginning of processing this life-changing shock. They and the medical team are assessing the best path forward as they wait for news of what's to come and what is currently happening. What many do not experience, and we hope they never will, is the moment when your world stops and slow motion sets in. Life swirls around you as you are stuck in a moment, clinging to hope and prayers that life will continue and once again return to normal. Sound has changed, and memories are held close, never to be forgotten. First, we ask for prayers for baby Leo. Pray for complete healing and a miracle for this family. Pray that his older brother, Logan, stays strong, as do Dallas and Ana.
Leo will likely undergo many daily rounds of chemo. His treatment protocol will require the Maltbys to travel 4 hours (8 hours total) from their home in Key West to Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital in Miami, where housing is not provided. Baby Leo's chemotherapy treatments will take 8 hours a day for three consecutive days, week after week, and driving home during these treatments is not an option.
The travel expenses, food, medical needs and costs for baby Leo, a loving place for Logan to stay, and the acknowledgment of the future missed work for Dallas and Ana is a lot to overcome alone. Their family car was also totaled during Hurricane Ian, a much-needed asset but another unexpected expense during this new diagnosis.
We are asking for your help. Please help to keep this family on their feet during this challenging time. Any assistance given will lighten the weight on Dallas and Ana so they can focus on baby Leo.
Dallas serves in the US Air Force in Key West, Fl. He is a kind, passionate, and wonderful human being and father, as well as a fantastic coworker. Ana is an amazing mother, friend, and takes care of her wonderful family.
Their love for each other and their children (Logan and Baby Leo) is a beautiful sight. This family is the true embodiment of love and connection and one who deserves our help in any way we can.
Thank you in advance for donating to help four-month-old baby Leo fight cancer. We will keep you posted on the progress as we can.
