This winter, many families in Maryland are facing serious financial pressure. With the government shutdown affecting incomes, the rising cost of living, and holiday expenses stacking up, parents are struggling to afford activities their children love — especially winter sports.

At Fern Athletics, we believe no child should miss out simply because of financial hardship. That’s why we’re on a mission to provide 40 kids with a completely FREE 6-week Winter Soccer Clinic in Crofton, MD.

What Your Donation Supports:

Our winter clinic costs $140 per child.

To cover 40 players, the total needed is $5,600.

Every dollar donated goes directly toward registration fees for children in our community.

No overhead. No admin costs. No extras.

100% straight to the kids.

Now we’re asking for help from our community to cover the remaining amount so every child can participate at no cost.

Fern Athletics is not a nonprofit organization, so donations are not tax-deductible.

We can promote and market your business through our clinic and social platforms.

Who We Are:

Fern Athletics is led by Marquez Fernandez, a former Division I soccer player and the only athlete in Maryland history to win two conference championships and reach a Final Four with two different programs (University of Maryland & UMBC).

Marquez also played professionally and currently serves as an Assistant Coach for Loyola University (Maryland) Men’s Soccer.

Our mission is to deliver high-level athletic training to local kids — regardless of income or background.

The Long-Term Vision:

This winter clinic is the beginning of something bigger.

Our long-term goal is to eliminate the “pay-to-play” barrier entirely, offering free or heavily subsidized leagues, clinics, and training year-round through community partnerships and sponsorships.
