Help 4 Year Old Evee Fight Skin Cancer and XP

We are asking for help for a very special little girl, Evee, and her incredible family as they face an unexpected and life changing medical journey.

Evee is just 4 years old.

Her mom, Chelsea, is one of my closest friends from dental hygiene school. A strong, resilient woman who has already overcome so much. During our very first semester, she lost her home to a hurricane and still pushed forward to build a better future for her family. She is the kind of person who shows up for everyone else, no matter what. Now, she needs us.

What started as what doctors believed was eczema turned into something much more serious. For months, Evee’s family struggled to help her skin heal with little to no improvement. When a spot on her scalp wouldn’t go away, they were told it was likely just a cyst, but it came back as a form of skin cancer especially uncommon for a child her age, squamous cell carcinoma.

Evee has already undergone one surgery and now faces at least two more surgeries in the coming weeks to remove the cancer. She has also been in and out of the hospital during this time, making this an overwhelming experience for their family.

Because of the rarity of both her skin condition and her cancer, doctors believe Evee may have Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP), a very rare genetic condition that makes the skin extremely sensitive to UV light and greatly increases the risk of skin cancer. They are still waiting on genetic confirmation, but her care team is already moving forward with treatment.

This diagnosis will change Evee’s life forever.

She will need to travel over two hours to Texas Children’s Hospital every three months indefinitely to monitor for new cancers. She will not be able to be in the sun like other children. Simple things like playing outside, going to the beach, sports, or even recess at school may not be possible.

To stay safe, Evee will need lifelong protection including specialized clothing, hats, sunscreen, and even UV protection for car windows and her home.

Despite everything, Evee remains the happiest, sweetest little girl, showing incredible bravery through something no child should ever have to face.

Chelsea and her husband, Corey, have been by her side every step of the way. They have traveled long distances for care, missed work, and are doing everything they can to care for their daughter. The emotional and financial strain is overwhelming.

We are raising funds to help support Evee and her family with:
• Medical bills and upcoming surgeries
• Ongoing specialist care and lifelong monitoring
• Travel expenses to and from Texas Children’s Hospital
• Lost income while caring for Evee
• UV-protective clothing, sunscreen, and necessary home/car modifications

If you are able to donate, any amount would mean so much. If you’re not able to give, sharing this page can make a huge difference.

Chelsea has always been the one showing strength for others. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.

Thank you for surrounding this family with love, support, and hope.
