Help Ali, Amisi, Pierre, & Uredi play Club Soccer!

Donation protected
Playing club soccer will help these young men far beyond just improving their game. Pierre, Uredi, Ali, and Amisi will learn time management, responsibility, respect, and hard work; skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

The first player I want to introduce to you is Pierre, a 15-year-old Freshman at Arsenal Tech High School. In 2016, Pierre immigrated from Tanzania to the United States with his mother, Eugenie, father, Kaskile, and four siblings: Beyaob, Jean, Roza, and Uredi. Pierre’s passion for soccer is matched by his potential to be a great player. When I asked Pierre why he wanted to play club soccer and what it would mean to him to play for Impact, he said, “that it would be a dream come true to play for the club.  I want to play as much as I can so that I can grow as a player and have a higher chance at a scholarship for college."

Pierre’s older brother, Uredi, is also a candidate for sponsorship. Uredi is 16 years old and is a junior at Arsenal Tech. Uredi’s story is unique. When he arrived at the United States, a clerical error listed his birthdate as 01/01/2003 when in reality it was 08/13/2004.  Uredi is an incredibly hard worker, and it is amazing to see him challenge other players to not only play hard, but also to practice at a higher level. One evening, I had the opportunity to give Uredi a ride home and we discussed what soccer means to him. He described that special feeling he gets when he steps onto the field and how he couldn’t live without this sport.

Ali Kashindi is a junior at Crispus Attics and is originally from the city of Kigoma, Tanzania, which ironically, is the same city in which Pierre and Uredi grew up. He is 18 years old, born on February 13, 2003. Academically, Ali is one of the hardest workers I have personally ever met and is achieving despite only being in the United States for 6 months. Ali particularly enjoys English, Science, and History classes. Ali cares a lot about soccer, but he truly just enjoys being around the group of guys the most. He loves to interact with his teammates and is the most active guy in the locker room.

Amisi Idi also attends Crispus Attics with Ali and is in the 11th grade. He is 18 years old and has been in the United States for 6 months. Despite still learning and practicing English, he has been able to show his goofy and kind side with the other players. Additionally, I believe that he communicates through his natural talent on the field.  Soccer is one of the only things that Amisi has had his whole life that has given him a space to be successful and comfortable enough to be his genuine self.  Amisi’s desire is to make it to the top level one day in order to help support the ones he loves.
