Hello! My name is Heather and I am my parents youngest daughter ( Randy and Brenda). My parents have been married 42 years! Y’all thats amazing! My dad is definitely the glue that olds us together! Recently we have found out that our dad is sick! It’s cancer in his kidney. We are all heartbroken and in shock! He was originally slated to have his kidney and lymph nots removed on the 10th of June. He and some others were bumped to the 22 of June. They also did a biopsy in his pelvis and there is cancer there as well. My parents have recently retired. This is supposed to be the relaxing fun years after all those years of work! On the 22nd he will be getting the kidney and lymph nodes removed. This surgery will be done in Indy. The doctors won’t give him any type of timeline as far as how long he will have to stay. Due to covid there are restrictions on visitors. My mom will he there every step of the way! Here is where we need help! Indy is 2 hours away from their Monticello house. That will be 4 hours everyday in the car while dads in the hospital. As newly retired they are on a tight income. Hospitals, huge amounts of gas, and eating away from home was never put into the budget. I am coming to y’all in hopes that maybe we can help mom with gas money, food money, and maybe even hotel money. We as a family just need some help if possible!
