Nepal - Earthquake Relief
NEPAL EARTHQUAKE - With so much falling down, we are helping Neighbours help Neighbours with a hand up
I am Shawn Acheson, from Red Deer, Alberta Canada. I have been activly guiding, training and assisting community leaders in Nepal for several years.
My Face Book Page I Heart South Asia, tells much of the story.
The recent severe earthquake near Kathmandu Nepal has has created a trauma of epic scale in a nation without the infrastructure to respond effectivly.
Our established a network of local leaders are experienced in community outreach & compassion.
These people are personal friends of many years, they have suffered great personal loss at this time, yet they remain intent on helping those around them.
The whole world is trying to help Nepal, but many efforts struggle to be as actionable as intended.
One of our leaders from Kathmandu explained: "International aid is not working good. Because government does not support them and nobody gets the supply from others”
Some of the red tape is from lagal structures designed to prevent subversive influence to groups or communities en masse, using gifts, food, etc.
Nepal emerged from civil war in 2007, its policies that were intended to protect Nepal’s fragile unity now interferes with aide distribution.
Smaller scale neighbor to neighbor efforts bypass the bottlenecks that hinder big aide and gets help to at least some of the people faster.
We have many trusted local people on the ground right now, actually helping in these small ways. This effort funds these individuals
Your Help will put resources in trusted hands to help in the most practical of ways!
