Help 4 SgtDominicRicotta
HI my name is Frank, I have worked with Dominic's dad Tony Ricotta for 30 years.
He and Carol's youngest son, Sgt Dominic Ricotta began a journey with AML Leukemia in March of 2019.
In December 2019, he was told he was cancer free. This past December of 2020, during routine bloodwork, it returned. He’s been on Chemo. The next battle will be a Stem Cell Transplant.
Both brothers matched Nic.
The drs decided TJ , his oldest brother will donate. Tj did not hesitate - here he is day of donation

On April 26th Dominic was admitted to Duke. On May 4th he will received stem cells. Check this page for updates & send well wishes.
Thanks for your support!
May4th -Today was the BIG DAY. Dominc's new birthday.
From Carol, his very faith filled strong mom:" The Dr. came in today & told us how it’s going to be an Amazing Day,(so Amazing he actually gets another birthday) . The procedure (done by transfusion) is actually pretty quick. The next 10-14 days will be hard, as he will have no immune system. Once he starts growing cells he’ll start his way up. Keep those incredible prayers coming. God has this!! "
During treatment while Sgt Ricotta's new immune system is growing, he needs to be in an apartment close to the VA Hospital in case of any emergencies.Veteran's Insurance is covering approximately 50% of the rent of his temporary accommodations, not sure about the groceries and other expenses that comes along running a 2nd household. Carol his mom will be staying with him to take care of him and monitor.
Tony is close to retirement and lord knows this will probably be a strain on their finances. As loving dedicated parents do, they go forward to do everything in their power for their son at whatever cost. They have asked for nothing but Gods healing for their son. We would love to help ease that financial strain thru community giving. Can you help? Every little bit helps. Oh and can you spare some extra prayers for Dominic, his parents and his brothers and family?
UPdate: 5/6/21 Dominic started Methotrexate which is causing his esophagus to hurt, which was anticipated - his entire team is keeping a watchful eye on him- please continue the prayers and uplifting messages .
