Hi, my name is Kali Dobel, and I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of my close friend of over 20 years, Mackenzie Taylor Abbott, and her students, Katherine Page and Kate Wall.

Mackenzie, Katherine, and Kate were travelling from Manitoba to Langley, British Columbia, to compete at the Equestrian Canada National Dressage West Championships when tragedy struck. A devastating accident claimed the lives of 3 beloved horses, two of them; Rosaria and Fearless belonging to our Solace Stables family. The accident also left the 4th horse, Katherine’s Flirty, with serious injuries.

In an instant, years of dedication, sacrifice, and dreams were shattered.

Anyone who knows Mackenzie knows that her love for the horses she rides, trains, and cares for is unparalleled. For years, she has been a pillar of the Manitoba equestrian community, dedicating her life not only to advancing the sport of dressage but also to supporting fellow riders and advocating for the horses who are fortunate enough to be in her care.

Mackenzie spent decades training and competing Rosaria and more recently, years developing and extraordinary partnership with Fearless, taking them all the way to the Grand Prix level, with aspirations of representing Canada on the world stage.

To lose both horses in such a sudden and heartbreaking way is unimaginable. It is every horse owner’s worst nightmare: sending your horses off on a journey and never having the chance to bring them home.

The emotional devastation of losing Rosaria and Fearless cannot be measured, and no amount of money will ever replace them.

Now, these three women need the support of the community they have given so much to.

Our hope is to help ease the tremendous financial burden of this tragedy and give Mackenzie, Katherine, and Kate the opportunity to heal, rebuild, and continue chasing the dreams they have spent their lives pursuing.

Funds raised will go directly toward supporting the owners as they navigate the heartbreaking aftermath of this tragedy. Donations may help alleviate the financial burden of unexpected veterinary expenses, transportation and recovery costs, memorial arrangements, lost competition expenses, and other unforeseen costs associated with the accident.

Above all, we hope these contributions can offer some financial breathing room, allowing the families to focus on grieving, healing, and navigating the difficult days ahead without the added weight of financial uncertainty.
