Amaria, also known as, AJ is a lively 3-year-old who enjoy all things Mini Mouse. AJ has a huge personality, she is smart, funny and sweet. On April 12, 2023 AJ was diagnosed with Stage III Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a cancer of the muscular tissue. The month leading to AJ’s diagnosis was filled with multiple doctor appointments and urgent care visits. AJ dealt with ear pain, night terrors and swelling in her face. Doctors prescribed three rounds of antibiotics to clear infections, however, the swelling on the left side of her face still grew. AJ was referred to an ENT, but he was very dismissive about AJ’s pain. Her parents decided enough was enough and took her to Akron’s Children Emergency room. After several test, the Doctors discovered the mass was in fact a malignant tumor. Thereafter, AJ was admitted to the hospital for three weeks to manage her intense pain. As the family waited for answers the tumor grew larger making it hard for AJ to chew her food or even completely close her mouth. AJ received a Med Port for Chemotherapy and an NG feeding tube to ensure she's getting enough nutrients. AJ’s treatment plan consists of 66 weeks of Chemotherapy in Akron with appointments one to five times a week and Radiation Monday-Friday for six weeks in Cleveland. On certain days she must be in both locations in order to receive chemo and radiation. AJ is 13 weeks into her plan, due to this rigorous schedule, it’s been impossible for her parents to work full time. AJ’s family needs help with travel expenses, monthly bills, and living expenses. Gas has become another bill since both Cleveland and Akron are an hour away from home. AJ has a long journey ahead of her. We appreciate any support! Cash app: $Amaria824 Venmo: @Amaria-Martin
