Help Send 3 Amazing Students to National History Day in Washington, D.C.!
We are so excited to share that three outstanding students—all alumni of the UW Lab School—have qualified for National History Day in Washington, D.C. this June! After placing at the state competition, they’ve earned the chance to compete at the national level, representing Wyoming on a huge stage.
This is a really big deal. National History Day is a prestigious event that draws the top young historians from across the country. It takes months of hard work, research, writing, and refining to even make it to state—let alone nationals.
What’s even more amazing? These students took this on completely outside of school. This wasn’t a class project or a requirement. They chose to do this on their own, driven by passion, curiosity, and a deep love of history.
And they couldn’t have done it without their incredible mentor, Meredith McLaughlin, who volunteered dozens of hours (sometimes over 10 hours a week!) to coach, guide, and support them—all on her own time.
Now, they need a little help to get to D.C.
We’re raising funds to cover:
Flights and ground transportation
Hotel stays and meals
Registration fees and other trip expenses
Because this is not a school-sponsored trip, none of the costs are covered. Every donation will go directly toward making this amazing opportunity possible.
Let’s help these students take their hard work all the way to the national stage!
Thank you so much for supporting them—whether you donate, share this post, or cheer them on from afar.
