Help 3 Black queer SWers move somewhere safe
We are fundraising for three queer Black sex workers whose employment status and entire lives have been upheaved by the coronavirus pandemic and racial climate our country is in.
They are in an unsafe and unstable housing situation and these funds go directly to them to move somewhere safe and stable.
With landlords demanding several months worth of rent and late fees that keep adding up, they have not been able to afford finding a safe place to live.
They have bills to catch up on while the threat of eviction and homelessness becomes increasingly greater by the day.
Despite all of this, they have given much of their own resources to other Black people in need. They've put their energy and resources into attending protests, and acquiring protective equipment and shelter for protesters over the last few weeks. They have been pulling resources to house people who lost their homes in fires from riots.
In their time of need, they've still been doing everything to advocate for and protect their community.
Besides the cut GFM takes, these funds will go directly to paying off their bills so they don't become homeless. These funds will go directly to the massive moving fees they will face just so they can have somewhere safe to live. These funds go directly to food, meds, and other basic needs.
I'm calling on white people and other non-Black POC to help. We owe it to these queer Black lives to give them a place to be safe and to heal.
Their lives matter NOW and ALWAYS. Black SWers are healers who deserve protection. They can't get government benefits and it's unfair and unjust to let them fall by the wayside while so many people are benefitting from their oppression.
