Help 3 Orphans join their family in the USA
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cesar. On 9/16/2022, at around 3 AM, my sister Carolina who lived in Colombia with her three children, was tragically killed in a car accident. Her loss was sudden and unexpected and has affected our family tremendously. She left behind her three children, who have no immediate family in Colombia, where they have lived their whole lives. They are orphans as our mother, father, brother, and I live in the United States, and the rest of our immediate family live in Spain. Her children, Santiago, 16; Juan Pablo, 13; and Mariana, 10, have had to deal with the sudden loss of their mother, the only person they have ever had. As well as facing the reality that they have no family left in the only home they've ever known.
I am asking for your help as our only hope and choice in this situation is to bring them to the United States. So that they may continue to live their lives alongside their family and together. Unfortunately, my mother had to stay behind in Colombia to care for them; if not, they would be taken by the system and separated. Their mother never wanted that for them, and we as a family don't want that either.
We are currently in the process of my mother (their grandmother) gaining custody over all three. In Colombia, things work differently; things take time, more time than it typically would given the situation. Once we can gain custody, we would then need to legally begin the process to bring them over to the United States. Everything we are doing for them now costs money. Between my father and I, we have assumed all financial responsibility for my mother to remain in Colombia with them. We can use all the help we can get as we know immigration lawyers, family lawyers, and the legal adoption process in the states costs money.
I kindly ask that you donate and share this GoFundMe with anyone and everyone you know. Our goal is to use these funds to help my mother and them sustain life for the time being while we acquire custody. When custody has been granted, we need the funding for the immigration process, including lawyers, as their case is extremely complex. Any donations are greatly appreciated, as the sudden loss of my sister has devastated our family, and we genuinely feel hopeless in this situation. We are trying our best to speed up this process as much as possible, but we can only do so much, given our financial circumstances.
