I am a Black single mother with three sons, and cooking is my passion. My journey began in Liberia, where I was adopted during a war, and continued in America, where I often felt isolated and struggled with my identity. Not knowing much about my culture or how to care for myself, I faced many challenges. Things changed when I met my ex-husband. Although our marriage didn't last, I was blessed with three amazing boys who are my everything. I want them to have a future, and the best way I know to make that happen is by doing what I love—cooking.
My food brings people together and sparks something in them, unlocking new taste buds and experiences. I dream of starting 3 Kings Catering, named for my sons, because I see them as kings and want them to know their worth. We live in a small apartment with a tiny kitchen, and I don't have all the tools I need to cook efficiently. With your support, I can purchase essential cooking materials like pots, pans, blenders, pounding bowls, and insulated bags for food delivery. I also need funds to buy specialty African and Jamaican ingredients, which are pricier and not available in regular stores. Your help will allow me to get the proper licenses for a food business and, eventually, work toward owning a food truck.
Thank you so much for helping a mother help her sons. It takes a village to raise a child, and I invite you to be a part of our village. Asking for help is hard for me, but I've learned that success means putting pride aside and reaching out for support. Thank you from me and my three kings!
