Help 3 Children in Domestic Abuse Tragedy

Christian Alejandra Duarte-Salinas (Chris, Christy) was a 28-year-old loving mother who was a victim of domestic violence and was heartlessly taken from this world by her abuser. She leaves behind three beautiful children: Lili (9), Steven (6), and 3-month baby Lucas, her father and mother: Silvino Duarte and Esther Salinas-Duarte, and two brothers: Andres & Aaron Duarte. Chris was a resilient, caring, selfless and strong woman. Her children meant the world to her; she did everything for them and poured all her love into them.

Chris was a single mother who juggled multiple jobs to provide for her kids, working long, straining hours. She dreamed of giving them a better life, a beautiful life. Despite her suffering over the years, Chris always walked through life with a smile, acted with kindness, and tried to view everything through a positive lens. Chris was a giver who enjoyed spending time in the kitchen prepping meals for her family. She enjoyed connecting with others through her food, and cooking was a way of expressing herself. Chris put everyone before herself; her children, friends, and family.

Chris is our angel. An angel who for so long wanted to be seen. Wanted to be loved. Chris believed in love stories and happy endings. Like many people in her shoes, she chose to share her love with someone incapable of loving her back. For over a year, she tried to break away from her abuser; she did her best, but he manipulated and preyed on her. Chris feared her abuser and tragically was unable to escape him. On the morning of September 7th, her life was taken by her abuser. She did not deserve this. Chris deserved to live out her happy ending and witness her children grow up.

Christian Alejandra Duarte-Salinas era una madre amorosa de 28 años que fue víctima de violencia doméstica y como consecuencia fue arrebatada despiadadamente de este mundo por su abusador. Chris fue una mujer fuerte, cariñosa, servicial y tenaz. Ella trabajaba duro para que sus hijos, Lili (9), Steven (6), y bebe Lucas de 3 meses tuvieran todo lo que necesitaban y fueran feliz.

Chris era una madre soltera y trabajadora que luchaba proveer por sus niños. A pesar de su sufrimiento a lo largo de los años, Chris siempre mantuvo una sonrisa, actuó con amabilidad y trató de ver todo con optimismo. Le gustaba cocinar para toda su familia; para ella cocinar era su forma de expresarse y conectarse con los que ella más quería. Siempre puso a sus hijos, amigos, familia, antes que a ella misma.

Chris es nuestro ángel. Un ángel que por mucho tiempo quiso ser vista. Quería ser amada. Ella creía en cuentos de amor y finales felices. Pero como muchas en su lugar, ella escogió compartir su amor con alguien que fue incapaz de amarla. Por más de un año ella intentó alejarse de su abusador; hizo todo lo posible, pero él la manipulaba y se aprovechaba de ella. Chris le temía a su abusador, y trágicamente no pudo escapar. La mañana del miércoles 7 de septiembre su abusador le quitó la vida injustamente. Chris no merecía un final tan doloroso. Ella merecía vivir una vida feliz, y ver a sus niños crecer.

Les pedimos que por favor tengan a Lili, Steven, y Lucas en sus oraciones ya que no tienen a su mamá. Sabemos que lo único que Chris pediría de nosotros es que cuidemos y les demos amor y cariño a sus hijos. Para honrar a Chris, les pedimos que donen por sus tres niños que necesitarán todo el apoyo estos próximos años.
